The ACCME and the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) have collaborated to simplify the integration of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) and accredited CME. This collaboration expands the number and diversity of accredited CME activities registered in ABIM's MOC program, offering ABIM Board Certified physicians more options for receiving MOC points through their participation in CME activities. We developed the collaboration in response to requests from physicians and accredited CME providers.
Search for a CME+ABIM MOC Activity
Use the ACCME’s CME Finder to find activities that are registered for ABIM MOC by activity type, number of MOC points available, location, and date. Only activities that are currently offered or will be available in the future are included in the search results. Read this FAQ about how to use CME Finder.
ABIM MOC Statement
In addition to the CME accreditation statement, look for this statement identifying CME activities that count toward ABIM's MOC program:
“Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to [XX] MOC points [and patient safety MOC credit] in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.”
Please note that CME providers offering MOC points for sessions or modules that are part of a larger, accredited CME activity may omit this sentence from the identification statement: “Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.”
