The ACCME offers a variety of educational resources and support services for Recognized Accreditors, including monthly webinars, regional forums, an annual conference, and professional development training for new Recognized Accreditor staff members. ACCME staff members make presentations at Recognized Accreditors' conferences for their providers, offer training for Recognized Accreditors' CME committee members, and provide one-on-one consultations with Recognized Accreditors.

Supporting Your Role as a Recognized Accreditor

Recognized Accreditor Webinars: Series of monthly webinars addressing topics relevant to Recognized Accreditors. Each webinar offers an opportunity to discuss hot topics and ask questions related to accreditation practices, Recognition requirements and the CME environment.

Regional Accreditor Meetings: Summer seminars for Recognized Accreditors and accreditation volunteers.  These regional meetings are dedicated to leadership topics and accreditation practices for Recognized Accreditors.

ACCME State/Territory Medical Society Conference: A national meeting of Recognized Accreditors and accreditation volunteers.

Documents, Tools and Resources for Accreditors

Recognized Accreditor Web Forum: (Login Required) - A platform for document sharing and Recognized Accreditor system announcements.  This space offers Recognized Accreditors a library of documents, tools, and exercises available for use in accreditation and education efforts.

Recognized Accreditor Self-Assessment Exercises and Survey:  Participate in skills exercises designed to assess equivalency in Recognized Accreditor practices.  Available through the Recognized Accreditor Web Forum, these self-assessment exercises provide insight on equivalency practices and help identify areas to target with education and training.

Recognized Accreditor Webinar Materials:  Includes agendas, case exercises and links to archived recordings.

Training Curriculum for Recognized Accreditor Staff Development:  Staff members of Recognized Accreditors serve three principal roles – Accreditation, Recognition, and the Leadership/Professional Development of Providers, Volunteers, and System Stakeholders. Strategic Communications: The ACCME is available to support collaborative approaches to enhance communications with CME system stakeholders. ACCME Educational Offerings for Accredited Providers: Join us for education that the ACCME offers to the provider community. The ACCME offers a 50% discount on registration for Recognized Accreditor staff and volunteers attending the ACCME’s CME as a Bridge to QualityTMAccreditation Workshop. Programs that are open to the general CME community can be found on the events webpage, and programs that are offered “by invitation only” will be announced as they become available.

ACCME Speakers Available for your Provider Conferences: The ACCME continues to provide speakers for Recognized Accreditors’ provider conferences or outreach to other stakeholders —whether on site, via phone or webinar. ACCME New Accreditation Surveyor Training: The ACCME continues to invite Recognized Accreditors and volunteers to participate in the ACCME’s two-part intensive surveyor trainings including a one hour webinar and full day interview observation training at the ACCME offices in Chicago.

Provider Examples of Compliance & NoncomplianceAn invaluable resource to support provider education and Recognized Accreditor decision making. The ACCME offers an online compendium of case examples drawn from the accreditation review process. The compendium includes actual examples of ACCME-accredited provider practices that were found either in compliance or noncompliance with the ACCME Criteria, and includes explanatory comments.

Ongoing Surveyor Training for National ACCME Surveyors: Recognized Accreditor staff and volunteers can take advantage of ACCME training and resources developed for the national ACCME surveyor pool.  Access to newsletters, forms, recorded webinars and accreditation resources are available for quick reference.

ACCME Education Web Pages Take advantage of the ACCME’s web-based multimedia educational resources for multiple audiences. The multimedia resources include Ask ACCME questions-and-answers (with video!) addressing compliance with the Accreditation Criteria; Perspectives interviews with CME leaders about initiatives that demonstrate the value of accredited CME; educational tutorials, and more.
