Criterion 38: The provider demonstrates the impact of the CME program on patients or their communities.
Overview of Criterion 38 from the ACCME Menu of Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation by Dr. Graham McMahon.
>>McMAHON: Ultimately what we care about as educators, but also as clinicians, is the health of our patients. And this criteria is all about showing us that your educational program is linked to improvements that you are able to demonstrate in the healthcare of the community that you serve. Whether that's a local population at high risk, whether it's a broader population that you're implementing preventive care in. This criteria is really about showing us that the educational program, sustained by and engaged with the strategic issues that you're working on, is making a difference in your community. And that's ultimately the greatest expression of the value of an educational program.
