The provider’s Medical Executive Committee conducts a strategic planning process and integrates accredited CME. The goal of the process is to improve the hospital’s approach to addressing healthcare disparities system-wide. The planning committee consists of the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Quality Officer, a public representative to the Board of Directors, and a liaison from the County Public Health Department. Over 14 months, the committee meets six times to identify areas of concern, work collaboratively to plan action steps, and evaluate the degree to which the work of the committee is effective in providing clear, actionable direction to the health system as it relates to health care disparities.
