We’re excited to let you know that we are creating a new ACCME website, based on input from the CME community. Our aim is to produce a more user-friendly and streamlined website. It will contain all the information you are used to accessing, but we are improving the navigation and making the site mobile-friendly, so you can easily find the information you need and access the site from any device.
Our home page will keep you up-to-date with the most recent news, upcoming events, and information from the CME community.
Our main navigation menu will give you one-click access to the information you told us you need the most: Accreditation Criteria, Standards for Commercial Support, and Policies. You’ll also find one-click access to resources, such as FAQ, examples of compliance and noncompliance, and videos.
Our new “Our Stories” section will give CME providers the opportunity to share real-world examples about how their initiatives make a difference to clinicians and patients.
We thank everyone who participated in our initial user interviews and sneak peek survey at the ACCME 2018 Meeting.

As medical marijuana becomes more available in communities across the country, patients and their clinicians are increasingly seeking information about its efficacy and potential use in care. Accredited continuing medical education (CME) providers can serve as a trusted source, giving clinicians the accurate information they need to deliver safe and effective care and to answer their patients’ questions.
We encourage accredited providers to embrace the opportunity to address controversial topics; CME is an ideal place for discussions about evolving issues in medicine. When considering how to construct activities about medical marijuana, CME providers should apply the same prudent planning process that they do for other activities that address areas of medicine that are evolving, unproven, or experimental.

We've asked the CME community to submit photos of “CME in Action” to help us showcase real-world CME. Here are some of the latest photos we received. We will also continue to share some of these images on our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram with the hashtag #CMEinAction, and we invite you to join us by posting images using that hashtag, as well. By doing so, we can demonstrate to our stakeholders the diversity, flexibility, and quality of CME.
At the 2018 AAAAI/WAO Joint Congress, the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology offered Training Stations, led by interprofessional faculty teams, to provide hands-on learning opportunities on two subjects: indoor allergen abatement and preparation of oral food challenges for food allergy diagnosis.
The SUNY Downstate Medical Center Office of Continuing Medical Education hosted a Facebook Live broadcast for World Kidney Day in collaboration with the New York State CKD (chronic kidney disease) Champions (Dawn Edwards, CEO; Aaron Battle, COO; Stephanie Dixon, CFO; and Shelba Jones, Associate Director). Special guests included Mariana Markell, MD, who discussed kidney disease in women and Daniel Cukor PhD. who discussed the psychological effects in women with CKD.
This photo features an Academy for Continued Healthcare Learning Clinical Commentary. This video-based digital classroom includes didactic clinical reviews, faculty discussions, and an augmented reality Mechanism of Action animation, providing clinicians with clinical data and expert opinions to aid them in providing the best possible care to their patients with inflammatory mediated diseases, rheumatoid arthritis, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Upcoming Educational Opportunities
Registration is now open for the ACCME 2018 Accreditation Workshop. This year’s workshop will be held on August 2-3, with a pre-conference session for newcomers on August 1. Each year, we offer an Accreditation Workshop to support the professional development of CME providers and system stakeholders. These workshops are designed to help CME professionals of all skill levels develop strategies to ensure their compliance with ACCME requirements.
In 2018, our workshop will feature a variety of interactive sessions to meet your individual learning needs. The agenda will include large group discussions exploring vignettes, cases, and examples as well as small group breakouts to discuss the application of the ACCME requirements in practice.
We are continuing to offer our series of bimonthly beginner and advanced webinars to discuss strategies for planning CME that Counts for MOC and to answer provider questions. For providers that have more experience, our next "Advanced CME for MOC: Ask Your Questions" webinar is on July 17. For providers that have not yet offered CME for MOC or have just offered a couple of activities, our next "Beginner CME for MOC: Ask Your Questions" webinar is on September 18.

The ACCME is looking for individuals to join our team! We are currently seeking an Operations Coordinator and a Senior Project Manager of Systems Implementation and Integration.
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for maintaining a professional work environment and office appearance, and ensuring that staff have the resources necessary to support productivity. This person will work closely with the ACCME's vendors, outside support services, and ACCME staff. The person in this position will also oversee the planning and preparation for in-house meetings.
The Senior Project Manager, Systems Implementation and Integration, performs a critical role in the implementation of systems designed to expand and improve the scope and quality of services ACCME provides to accredited organizations and other stakeholders. This person will be responsible for projects that focus on the development of new systems as well as enhancements to existing systems to facilitate data collection and analysis in support of the accreditation process and the registration and reporting of participants in CME activities that also count for Maintenance of Certification, State Medical Licensure, and the FDA’s Risk and Evaluation Mitigation Strategies.
