Recognized Accreditor Events Discuss CME’s Role in Healthcare Improvement
The ACCME participated in the following Recognized Accreditor events during the past few months. The participation is part of the ongoing support the ACCME provides for the intrastate accreditation system and for Recognized Accreditors (state/territory medical societies recognized by the ACCME as accreditors of intrastate CME providers).
- The ACCME participated via conference call in a meeting of the Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) Committee on Accreditation and Medical Education in February. Kate Regnier, MA, MBA, Executive Vice President; and Steve Singer, PhD, Vice President, Education and Outreach, ACCME, discussed the changing CME environment, including strategies for engaging with quality improvement initiatives.
- Murray Kopelow, MD, President and CEO, ACCME; and Ms. Regnier participated in several meetings at the Idaho Medical Association (IMA) in March. They met with the staff, volunteer leadership, and accredited providers from Idaho to discuss the 2014 simplification of the accreditation requirements and process, the role of CME as a strategic asset in support of national and local public health initiatives, and Maintenance of Recognition.
