The ACCME participated in the following CME events in New Mexico, South Carolina, and Washington State during the last few months. This participation is part of the ongoing support the ACCME provides for the intrastate accreditation system and for Recognized Accreditors (state/territory medical societies recognized by the ACCME as accreditors of local CME providers).

  • Steve Singer, PhD, ACCME Director, Education and Outreach gave presentations at the New Mexico Accredited CME Providers Annual Training Conference held by the New Mexico Medical Society in October and the South Carolina Medical Association CME Provider Workshop held in November. During his talk, “The Value Proposition: Accredited CME as a Strategic Asset to Better Practice & Better Health,” Dr. Singer presented an action plan for achieving Accreditation with Commendation and described how providers can utilize the Accreditation Criteria to engage with their leadership and support their institutions’ health care priorities. He also facilitated discussions about the ACCME strategic imperatives to elicit feedback from participants about potential improvements to the accreditation standards, process, and system.
  • Murray Kopelow, MD, ACCME President and Chief Executive, led a session at the 2012 Washington State Medical Association CME Provider Conference held in December. He described the evolution of the accreditation requirements, provided an overview of the ACCME’s engagement with stakeholders regarding the ACCME strategic imperatives, and encouraged participants to share their insights and ideas for improving the accreditation standards, process, and system.
