Member Organization Meetings Address Physicians' CPD
The ACCME participated in the following meetings during October as part of its ongoing collaboration with member organizations. Through joint leadership initiatives, the ACCME and member organizations identify and implement strategies for improving physicians' continuing professional development and patient care.
- Murray Kopelow, MD, President and CEO; and Kate Regnier MA, MBA, Deputy Chief Executive and COO, ACCME, participated in a meeting of the Lifelong Physician Development Stakeholder Working Group held in October in Chicago. The meeting was convened by the American Hospital Association (AHA), an ACCME member organization, and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
- Marcia K. Martin, Manager, Provider Education and Outreach, ACCME, participated in the Learning from Teaching Webinar, held by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) in October. Ms. Martin described simple approaches for applying the ACCME requirements to CME activities based on teaching medical students and residents. - David A. Swankin, Esq., JD, public member, ACCME Board of Directors, participated in the Second International MOL/Revalidation Symposium: Sharing Best Practices, Lessons Learned, cohosted by the Federation of State Medical Boards, US, and the General Medical Council, United Kingdom. The meeting was held in October in Washington, DC. FSMB is an ACCME member organization.
