ACCME Participates in ABMS, AHA, CMSS Meetings

The ACCME participated in the following meetings during the past few months as part of its ongoing collaboration with member organizations. Through joint leadership initiatives, the ACCME and member organizations identify and implement strategies for improving physicians' continuing professional development and patient care.

  • Carlyle Chan, MD, member, ACCME Board of Directors, attended the Fall 2012 ABMS Board Congress, held by the American Board of Medical Specialties in September in Chicago. Kate Regnier, MA, MBA, ACCME Deputy Chief Executive and COO, participated in an American Board of Medical Specialties Maintenance of Certification® Committee meeting held in December in Chicago. The ACCME has provided ongoing support for the ABMS MOC® initiative. The ABMS is an ACCME member organization.
  • Kate Regnier, MA, MBA, ACCME Deputy Chief Executive and COO, participated in a meeting of the Lifelong Physician Development Stakeholder Workgroup convened by the American Hospital Association (AHA) in October in Chicago. Ms. Regnier presented an overview of the ACCME’s efforts to support physician lifelong learning. The AHA is an ACCME member organization.
  • Ms. Regnier also participated in the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS) 2012 Annual Meeting, held in November in Washington, DC. The CMSS is an ACCME member organization.
