This tutorial offers educational resources to help providers achieve compliance with Criteria 33-35 in the “Demonstrates Educational Leadership” category of the Menu of Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation.
A Menu of Options: Providers seeking to achieve commendation under ACCME’s Menu of Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation need to meet the expectations of any seven criteria from the five menu categories plus at least one of the criteria from the “Achieves Outcomes” category.
The Commendation Criteria in the “Demonstrating Educational Leadership” category reward accredited providers that engage in research and scholarship, support the continuous professional development of their CME team, and demonstrate creativity and innovation in their CME programs.
It’s Optional: As a reminder, as with the existing commendation criteria 16-22, compliance with the new commendation criteria will be optional for CME providers and is not required to achieve Accreditation.
For more information about the new commendation criteria overall, including a transition timeline, please see the Menu of New Criteria for Accreditation with Commendation webpage.
Educational Resources: Demonstrating Educational Leadership
In response to providers’ requests, we have developed written FAQ, short videos, and examples of compliance for each of the “Demonstrating Educational Leadership” criteria. These examples describe approaches that would meet the expectations of the criteria; however, they may not include evidence of compliance with the measurement standards for each criterion.
