In the systems in which you practice, in the systems in which the physicians practice, there are organizations and enterprises trying to improve the overall quality of the health care delivered to patients. All of the quality involves all of the systems and all of the parts of that system.
Physicians are one part of it. The systems in which you operate and they operate are another. In Criterion 21, ACCCME is asking you as a provider to engage with other parts of the health care system and other parts of your enterprise and your organization, who are focused on the broader and more expansive objective of improving quality. CME that Matters to Patient CareTM is important in C16 and CME that matters to patient care is important in C21. CME as a Bridge to QualityTM, CME as an asset to those who are trying to improve the overall quality of health care and health care delivery is imbued in Criterion 21. In that ACCME wants our accredited providers to be engaged and involved.
