The key words in Criterion 16 is about improving professional practice. Now, all of the criteria and all of your continuing medical education is linked to professional practice gaps. So, fundamentally it’s all in support of Criterion 16. Those who are involved in institutions in quality improvement, in initiatives to get physicians to do what physicians do differently, need the help of continuing medical education providers. And in that context, ACCME is looking for you as an accredited provider to engage in some system, in some process, in some organization, that is working specifically to address professional practice. Changes in professional practice are only one of the many alterations that are done to improve quality overall.
