When you click on the Batch Upload Activities button in PARS, to begin the batch upload process, you are prompted to indicate whether you are batch uploading activities that occurred in a “Reporting Year 2011 or later” or in a “Reporting Year 2010 or earlier.” The following is a description of the differences in reporting commercial support for activities that occurred before 2011 and reporting activities that occurred in 2011 or after:
- For activities that occurred prior to 2011, you are required to report the Total Value of Commercial Support Received (monetary or in-kind); this means report the total amount of both the money received to support an activity and an estimated value of any in-kind support received. For activities that occurred in 2010 or before you must estimate the value of in-kind support.
- For activities that occurred in 2011 or after, you are required to report the monetary commercial support and in-kind commercial support separately. The total amount of money received to support an activity should be reported as Total Monetary Amount Received. This total should not reflect any in-kind support received; only cash receipts. In addition, any in-kind (non-monetary) support that was received should be reported as In-kind Support Received by checking the appropriate box or boxes. For activities that occurred in 2011 or later you do not have to estimate the value of in-kind support.
Please note that a single batch upload file cannot contain records for both activities that occurred prior to 2011 and activities that occurred in 2011 or after.
